5 aspects of Cloud Computing:
5 aspects of Cloud Computing:
As we know, cloud computing technology is used by both small and large organizations to store the information in cloud and access it from anywhere at any time using the internet connection. Cloud Based architecture is a combination of service-oriented architecture and event-driven
architecture.
Different acpects of cloud computing that you may not know about are mentioned below:
No 1. Cloud based architecture is divided into the following two parts -
o Front End
o Back End
Front End:
The front end is used by the client. It contains client-side interfaces and applications that are required to
access the cloud computing platforms. The front end includes web servers (including Chrome, Firefox, internet explorer, etc.), thin & fat clients, tablets, and mobile devices.
Back End:
The back end is used by the service provider. It manages all the resources that are required to provide cloud
computing services. It includes a huge amount of data storage, security mechanism, virtual machines,
deploying models, servers, traffic control mechanisms, etc.
No.2. Models of Cloud Computing
A Cloud Services manages that which type of service you access according to the client’s requirement. Cloud computing offers the following three type of services:
i. Software as a Service (SaaS) – It is also known as cloud application services. Mostly, SaaS applications
run directly through the web browser means we do not require to download and install these applications.
Some important example of SaaS is given below –
Example: Google Apps, Salesforce Dropbox, Slack, Hubspot, Cisco WebEx.
ii. Platform as a Service (PaaS) – It is also known as cloud platform services. It is quite similar to SaaS,
but the difference is that PaaS provides a platform for software creation, but using SaaS, we can access
software over the internet without the need of any platform.
Example: Windows Azure, Force.com, Magento Commerce Cloud, OpenShift.
iii. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) – It is also known as cloud infrastructure services. It is responsible
for managing applications data, middleware, and runtime environments.
Example: Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2, Google Compute Engine (GCE), Cisco Metapod.
No.3: Deployment Model
Deployment Model of cloud computing consist of:
i.Public Cloud: They are shared across the public internet and is shared across the organization.
ii.Private Cloud:They are used by a single organization and it offer greater security and control.
iii. Hybrid Cloud: It is the combination of public and private cloud, that offers greater flexibility and more deployment finctions.
No.4. Benefits of Cloud Computing:
The benefits of cloud computing are mentioned below:
i. Cost Efficiency: Eliminates the capital expense of buying hardware and software and setting up on-site data centers.
ii. Scalable:The system is easily scalable, in terms of computing resources (scale up/down).
iii. High Performance & Reduced Latency : It offers high-performance and lower latency by leverage the Large Network of data centers.
iv. Enhanced Security: Provides high-level securities for maintaining the integrity and protection of data, applications.
v. Access from Anywhere: Users can access resources, enabling remote working and collaboration.
No.5. Common Use Cases of cloud computing
Backup and recovery: Data backup is easy.
Development and testing: Environment for development work or testing without physical infrastructure.
Big Data Analytics: Processes unstructured, and/or semi-structured data for patterns to gain insights from the results.
Disaster Recovery - The process of replicating the data, managing IT operation on time with backup to restore disrupted business.
Customer-facing Applications: Develops the applications, sourced either from an external provider, such as commercial software provided via a service model or built in-house.
What are business implication of cloud computing?
The business implication of cloud computing are:
- Cost Saving
- Scalibility and Flexibility
- Enhanced collaboration and productivity
- Innovation and Competitive Advantage
- Improved security and Compliance
- Business Continuity
Conclusion:
In essence, Cloud Computing would not just be a technology- shift but rather also as the strategic enablement that allows businesses to adapt/evolve in rapidly digitalizing world. By embracing cloud computing, organizations can operate more efficiently and increase the velocity of innovation-or be a competitive advantage in their industry. To sum it up, cloud computing is a new way of using a technology that brings multiple advantages in cost efficiency, scalability and flexibility as well as innovation for business.
